Portal - Creating Users

How to Create a New User in the Power Portal

Follow these steps to add a new user to your Power Portal using the admin web portal.

Step 1: Log in to the Admin Web Portal

  1. Open a web browser on your computer.
  2. Navigate to power.usipcom.com.
  3. Enter your admin login credentials (e.g., ext@customerdomain.com) and password.
  4. Click Log In.
  5. From the top-right corner of the portal, select Manage Organization to access the admin dashboard.

Step 2: Open the Users Page

  1. In the admin dashboard, click the Users icon on the menu bar.
  • This will open the Users page, where you can manage existing users and add new ones.

Step 3: Add a New User

  1. Click the Add User button.
  • A pop-up window labeled Add a User will appear.
  1. Fill out the following fields:
  • First Name: Enter the first name of the user.
  • Last Name: Enter the last name of the user (used for the dial-by-name directory).
  • Extension: Assign a unique extension for the user (e.g., 101).
  • Department: Specify the department (optional).
  • Timezone: Choose the user’s timezone.
  • Email Address: Enter the user’s email for notifications and password recovery.
  • User’s Scope: Select the user’s access level:
  • Basic User
  • Office Manager (Support will need to assist with this role)
  • (Other options may be available depending on your system setup.)
  • Enable Voicemail: Check this box to activate voicemail for the user.
  • New Password: Set a numeric login password for the user (it will be masked).
  • Confirm Password: Re-enter the numeric password.


Step 4: Save the User

  1. Click the Add User button at the bottom of the form to save the new user.
  • The user will now appear in the Users list.
  1. Repeat the process for additional users, if needed.

Optional: Configure the User’s Settings

After creating a user, you may want to further configure their profile:

  • Voicemail Settings: Set up voicemail inbox options.
  • Answering Rules: Define how incoming calls are handled based on time frames or other conditions.

Notes

  • Ensure that the chosen extension number is not already in use.
  • Use strong passwords to enhance security.
  • If the user needs advanced permissions (e.g., Office Manager), please contact support.
